The National Seed Program is the single largest activity performed by Quail Unlimited chapters. Each year, several national seed companies donate surplus seed to Quail Unlimited. The seed, consisting primarily of grains used to develop winter feeding and cover sites for quail, is then distributed to chapters across the country for use in their food and cover planting projects. Seed is shipped by the full semi load, which averages 850 bags. The seed is in 50-lb. bags with the exception of sunflower. Bags of sunflower range in size from 20-lb. to 40-lb. depending on the seed company. The type of seed usually available through the National Seed Program is as follows: alfalfa, corn, clover(sporadic), grain sorghum (milo), soybeans, sunflower and wheat.
Seed is available to active Quail Unlimited chapters in good standing or active Hunting Preserve members. Seed orders can be placed through a local chapter in your area or you may contact:
