Staying fit with PCOS

Exercise is good for you in many different ways, and plays an important role in managing your PCOS. Young women with PCOS often have elevated insulin levels, which can be lowered with exercise. Also, if you’re stressed or anxious, regular exercise can help improve your mood. It can also help you maintain a healthy weight and boost your overall energy level.

Making exercise fun is the key to keeping it an ongoing part of your life. This guide includes three worksheets to help you figure out which types of exercise you’ll enjoy most and how to get started with them.

So here we go!

  1. Grab a pen and complete Worksheet 1—Focus on Fitness. Here, you’ll figure out what feelings and goals can motivate you, what activities you actually like to do, and how you can free up time for fitness.
  2. After deciding what will motivate you, go to the Worksheet 2—Fun Fitness to pick out activities.
  3. When you've chosen your activities, fill in Worksheet 3—Fitness Planner to make exercising part of your weekly routine.
