Activant, Wrenchead and other e-cat
providers have made a commitment to adopt ACES. CARS was
designed and developed with ACES as its core vehicle
configuration database against which applications and parts
are tied. Even though AAIA does not have a complete list of
all commercially available vehicles, CARS provides the user
the ability to add and maintain the master vehicle data with
additional vehicle information without affecting the AAIA
vehicle master database.
The system can be customized to add
multiple attributes to a product or to a part number apart
from the standard information like, part description,
dimension or specification information, UPC, weight and
class (popularity), attach multiple images of different
types of image etc. The module supports attaching an image
reference title while linking the part number and multiple
images.
CARS is a multi-user system with
security features that can be set by the administrator. Both
menu level as well as product line based user permissions
can be configured in the security settings. The user can be
given view only or view and edit permission or the user can
be denied access to any of the menu’s in the system (if a
user is denied permission to any of the functions, they will
not see the function in the menu).
CARS can be configured to many
Databases, e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, etc. Omnitek can also
supply the software with the Microsoft Desktop Engine (MSDE),
which is the desktop version of Microsoft SQL Server 2000
CARS was designed to automate the
process of gathering data from various different sources,
including Original Equipment Manufacturers (O.E.M.),
