Golden Gate National Recreational Area
Planning, Projects and Public Involvement

The Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) is dedicated to providing the public with the most current information on planning activities and projects within the park. The public plays an essential role in taking care of our national parks. Each person has an important perspective on the management of the GGNRA and can make a unique contribution to the planning process. Your input can make a difference.

There are many ways to stay involved and participate in park planning and projects.

·         Visit the Park Planning and Projects website to learn about current and completed park projects, review and comment on environmental assessments (EA), environmental impact statements (EIS), and other planning documents.

·         Sign up to receive an E-newsletter for the new General Management Plan for the GGNRA and Muir Woods

·         Attend public meetings or site walks planned for specific park projects. These events will be posted on individual project websites as well as on the park Calendar of Events.

·         Attend a quarterly GGNRA Open House to talk with NPS and Parks Conservancy staff about current park projects.

·         Visit the NPS-wide Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) website, which also provides information on current projects. You can also review and comment on environmental documents on this site.

·         Request to be added to the GGNRA mailing list (Open Houses).

·         Volunteer!
