The Division of Physics conducts research and engineering studies in the areas of minimally invasive optical technologies, electromagnetics, electrophysiology, electrical stimulation, and wireless technologies. These studies support the Center's mission to assure and improve the safety and effectiveness of medical devices and electronic products. The Division has expertise in the areas of optical physics and dosimetry, biosensors, fiber delivery systems, electrical engineering, electrophysiology, electromagnetics, and radiofrequency dosimetry. The Division also develops measurement methods, instrument calibration capabilities, and analytical procedures to characterize and evaluate devices and products, and supports the Center's enforcement and product testing activities.
For more information on research training opportunities can be found on the OSEL Fellowship Programs page.
