Earth Hour at the Marin Headlands 7:30 pm-9 pm

Audience: Families, Adults, Seniors

Location: Visitor will meet NPS Ranger at the Dillingham Parking Lot (Northern parking lot at the Golden Gate Bridge)

Cost: Free

Celebrate the Earth Hour outdoors in the Marin Headlands. Witness the lights go out in San Francisco from Battery Spencer one of the most renown and spectacular views of the Bay Area. An NPS Ranger will provide exciting interpretive components for Earth Hour.


Family Campfire 5 PM - 7 PM
Star Tales on Crissy Field 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Audience: Families, Adults, Seniors

Location: Family Campfire will take place at the Crissy Field Amphitheatre. Star Tales on Crissy Field will meet at the Warming Hut.

Event Type: Food, History, Seasonal/Holiday, Tours/Walk/Recreation

Cost: The Family Campfire will be $15 per family of three; $5 per additional family member All ages welcome. Star Tales on Crissy Field is a free program (begins at 7:30pm)


Family Campfire

Celebrate the wonder of the spring season with an outdoor campfire at Crissy Field Amphitheater. Join us for storytelling and merriment as we watch the sun set in the West. We'll even make s'mores and sip hot cider by the fire. Families may stay afterwards to attend the Star Tales on Crissy Field Hike.

Meet at the Crissy Field Amphitheater, located near the Warming Hut. Rain cancels; phone for program status.

Pre-registration is recommended. Drop-ins are also accepted on a space-available basis. Register by faxing form to (415) 561-7695 or mail to Crissy Field Center. P.O. Box 29410, San Francisco, CA 94129 or phone (415) 561-7765. Financial assistance is available.

Cancellations must be received 48 hours prior to the program to receive a 75 percent refund. If we cancel a program, you will receive a full refund of your total payment.

Star Tales on Crissy Field

Bring your blanket as you hike with Ranger Fatima Colindres from the Warming Hut to the Crissy Field Beach for stargazing. While laying under the stars hear cultural folklore about the star constellations. Learn about the dark sky and its connection with wildlife. Enjoy the view as the lights go out on Alcatraz for Earth Hour.

Muir Woods National Monument was establish on January 1908.
