I have been involved in the natural and pharmaceutical products industry since 1975. It has been my experience that products containing ephedrine alkaloids when used responsibly are safe and effective for their intended uses. In recent years, the media seems to have sesationalized some reports of adverse side effects when people took innapropriate doses. Most reports have been taken out of context and many assumptions seem to have been made by press writers lacking the knowledge to make these assumptions-their job is to sell the news!
It is my feeling that the DSHEA act of 1994 provides for adequate protection of the public in matters of this regard, but just as importantly allows for the education of the proper uses of supplements.
