I represent a wonderful 39 year old woman with no pre-existing risk factors for stroke. Three months after taking a dietary supplement containing ephedra (Nutramerica-trimspa) she suffered a massive ischemic stroke. She now has permanent paralysis, left sided, and can't return to her professional career as a benefits manager with Cigna. Her daily life is tortured... the most simple daily activities are impossible. The companies that produce these products must be held accountable for misleading the public. My client believed that she was using an all natural product that was safe. Her life has been compromised. Profit motive should not outweigh safety.
