FAQS

I put plant tags and a sprayer in my shopping cart and now I don't see them. I only see my plants. Where are my gardening supplies?
Because plants are fragile, they require their own shipping container. To accurately calculate shipping costs for both plants and supplies, and to protect your plants, our website has two separate shopping carts. You can check either cart by clicking on the check cart hyperlink in the top right hand corner of any page. When you are actually in the plant shopping cart the top right hand corner will have a check gardening supply cart link and when you are actually in the gardening supply cart the right hand corner will have a check plant cart link.

Is your nursery open to the public?
As much as we love our customers, our nursery is not open to the public. Our nursery is really a propagation facility  and does not resemble the normal nursery, no little red wagons, not even a cash register!

Do I have to buy all six of the same plant?
Absolutely not! Mix them up or order all the same thing. You choose what you want.

Do you sell seeds?
We offer several collections of certified organic seeds, including basils, veggies and sunflowers.

Can I change my order after I place it online?
We are more than happy to make changes to your order. However, we do have time limits. Please inform of us or your changes by the Wednesday BEFORE your order is scheduled to leave. No changes can be made after this time.

What is the guarantee for my plants?
We guarantee that the plants you get are healthy and ready to grow! grow! grow! You have 14 days from the date of the arrival of your plants to notify us of any problems. We will either send replacements or a refund, depending on the circumstances of the problem.

I need to cancel my order. Is this a problem?
Not at all, cancellations can be made up to the week before your order is due to be shipped. After this time there is a 20 percent cancellation fee and shipping is non refundable.

Can I return my book?
We are sorry but books are non returnable. All other gardening supplies may be returned only if in original unopened packaging. Shipping is not refunded for these items. Should your product have a manufacturer's default, you will need to contact us for a return number.

How big are the plants?

Our pots are 2 3/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches.
For some reason, the nursery trade calls these three inch pots?
The height of our box is 8 inches and, since the plants travel sitting straight up in the box, they are never taller than that.

How do I order plug trays?
Since plug availability is so varied, these may only be ordered either by FAX (559-338-0075) or by phone (559 338 -2275. Visit this link for more information and a FAX form.

I was wondering, if I were to order herbs now, when would you ship them? I would prefer a future date, if that is possible?
We call this a back order and are more than happy to ship when it is convenient for you. Enter your requested ship date in the comments box on the order form.

What comes with my plants?
Your box will have our Success with Herbs pamphlet which contains basic unpacking and care information. There will also be a catalog in the box. If you have ordered a Specialty Herb Garden, there will also be a separate set of instructions specific to that garden.

I am interested in the Assortments,
can you tell me what plants come with them?
Assortments will have different plants at different times of year. Our trained staff picks plants that are at their peak at the time of your order. If you have a request, please feel free to let us know in the comment box of the online order form. We do our best to honor your wishes, but cannot guarantee you will get what you have requested. By looking at the availability list for the week you order, you may get an idea of what is coming.

What are isp's?
Isp stands for internet special.
These offers change from time to time and are usually announced through our email newsletter, Mountain Valley Views.

Is there a minimum order to order an isp?
Usually, yes. Internet Specials are our way of saying thank you to our customers. Our ISPs are meant as add ons to the regular minimum order of at least six plants at the regular price. The special will state if other conditions apply
.

Can you send plants to South America?
No, unfortunately agricultural restrictions across borders make delays that are deadly to live plants. We ship to all 50 United States.

Do you sell wholesale?
Yes, please phone us at 559 338 2775 for more details.

I ordered on a Friday. When will my plants arrive ?
Shipping live plants is a little different than shipping cd players. Live plants can be randomly inspected by the USDA and this may or may not delay the box one day. Also, UPS does not count the day the plants leave therefore, a 2 day package that leaves on Monday arrives on Wednesday. So our shipping schedule usually runs about like this: Local ground live plant packages can leave on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. 2 Day packages can leave on a Monday or Tuesday. And, long distance ground packages (like to Washington or Colorado) leave only a Monday.
Because the nursery is very rural, we do not offer overnight delivery service.

Shipping of gardening supplies usually occurs within 2 business days of placing your order. Ground deliveries take about five working days to reach you.

It is freezing here. Can I still get my plants shipped right away?
No, we don't send plants into areas that are experiencing freezing weather. But, we are happy to back order them for the appropriate time in spring.
