Strategic Agricultural Initiative Grants

2009 Requests for Proposals

The Strategic Agricultural Initiative (SAI) promotes transition to reduced-risk pest management practices in agriculture to protect human health and the environment.

SAI seeks to recognize the economic viability, social equity, and environmental risk reduction associated with its activities to assist in Food Quality Protection Act implementation though an extensive and effective communication and partnership effort with regional pesticide user, teacher and researcher communities.

SAI's financial resources focus primarily on minor agricultural crops while collaborative efforts extend to environmental issues touching all of agriculture. SAI provides grant funding for FQPA-related projects for state and nonprofit organizations and seeks partnerships with regulatory agencies, industry and the agricultural community. SAI grants fund projects which emphasize the use and study of reduced risk pesticides and non-pesticidal alternatives.

Please contact the SAI Coordinator serving the state in which you live for additional information on the program and grant opportunities.

Information on SAI supported projects is available from the SAI project database. Exit EPA disclaimer
