Welcome!
Welcome to your source of state-of-the-art research – in safety, pavements, operations, structures, human-centered systems,
operations/intelligent transportation systems, and materials technology!
At this site, you will learn about the people, laboratories, and
research being conducted or managed at the Turner-Fairbank Highway
Research Center (TFHRC), part of Federal Highway Administration’s
Office of Research, Development, and Technology (RD&T). You can also
find timely information on events and publications to link you to
what’s new at our facility and in the transportation community.
Coordinating the Federal Research and Technology (R&T) Program and
communicating with our partners are as important as conducting our
research. RD&T is a leader in leveraging technology and innovation,
one of FHWA’s guiding principles.
Look at our
FY 2006/2007 Performance Plan to learn more about RD&T
and how we manage a Federal R&T budget of more than $100 million,
interfacing with the rest of FHWA and Department of Transportation.
This site (www.tfhrc.gov) is a "must bookmark" as a reference for transportation professionals. Academicians, consultants, and general interest Web surfers as well will be impressed by the breadth of Federal highway research and by our comprehensive library of available online publications. We hope you find this site a useful source of dynamic transportation information and invite you to see how RD&T strives to conduct research that is essential, indispensable, and connected to our partners and customers!
