The Area Roundtable was created to organize and foster sustained economic growth in Wood County. It is made up of three different but inter-related organizations that each plays a vital role in the retention and creation of jobs and the promotion of investments in our community. The three organizations all have a central management team to enhance administrative efficiencies and consolidate fundraising needs. The three organizations are:

The Wood County Development Authority assists with development projects through the use of a variety financial tools including Industrial Revenue Bonds, the creation of Tax Increment Financing zones; the acquisition and ownership of property for subleasing to job and investment creating companies as well as the operation of industrial and business parks.

The Parkersburg Development Corporation is focused on the development of housing, commercial, service and other appropriate industries in downtown Parkersburg. It also gives attention to the aesthetic appeal of the city by reviewing infrastructure, traffic flows, parking, facade improvements and signage standards.

The Parkersburg-Wood County Area Development Corporation's mission is the marketing and coordination of Wood County's development activities in a manner which will maintain and expand the business and industrial base of Wood County.
