RESEARCH AND EDUCATION IN ORGANIC AGRICULTURE
Your financial support directly supports OACC work and affirms your
recognition of the value of OACC research and education. This tangible
signal strengthens our hand considerably when we approach government
funding agencies. They need to see that individuals and businesses are
willing to endorse OACC in this practical and measurable manner.
WHY YOUR CONTRIBUTION IS IMPORTANT
Global food systems are in flux and under rising pressures.
A realistic understanding of the influences on our food is vital to
our sense of wellbeing, our safety and our support of a sustainable
environment. Organic methods serve organic practitioners and others
who want to adapt to shifting conditions of climate, energy supplies,
biodiversity and pollution.
OACC performs research and education at the university level in organic
agriculture. Our unique responsibility is to link scientists and practitioners
while verifying claims and providing solutions to many agricultural
issues affecting Canadians. Your contribution makes it possible for
us to meet and exceed expectations.
OUR WORK
Our vision is to strengthen the science and practice of organic
agriculture. This has led us to research greenhouse gases in agriculture,
sustainability in farming – environmental and economic, new organic
markets and innovative ways to foil pests in crops. We explore biological
ways to measure soil health. We link knowledge between researchers,
farmers, business people, students and consumers. We’re very passionate
about our important work!
Thank-you for your support!
