Better Chance

A Better Chance is the preeminent resource for identifying, recruiting and developing leaders among young people of color in the United States.

Through a unique assessment model, A Better Chance refers academically talented students entering grades 6 through 11 to some of the nation's finest independent and public schools to be considered for placement and financial aid. Students who are successfully placed in one of our 300+ member schools become a part of the signature College Preparatory Schools Program, and receive access to expanded educational and leadership opportunities.

2006-2007 Annual Report

This year marks our 45th Anniversary!

Since 1963, A Better Chance has been transforming lives through educational opportunities.  And the promise is being realized-- nearly 12,000 alumni have completed our program since its beginnings.  Many in our earliest classes are rising to the highest levels of leadership-- in government, business, education, the nonprofit sector and the arts.  Based on their success and what they represent to the A Better Chance community, we have selected the 45 Faces of A Better Chance.  Each face is an alumnus who has become an exemplary member of society through their achievements and serve as testaments to the power of A Better Chance.  To learn more about our 45 Faces, click below to view our slideshow.
