Innovation through Institutional Integration - I3 Proposal Guidelines Review Seminars Announced
SCHEDULE OF ONLINE WORKSHOPS: Online seminars are scheduled on Thursday, January 15, 2009, from 2-3 pm EST and Friday, January 23, 2009, from 11 am to 12 noon EST. Both workshops will include similar content. WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: We recommend that a team of faculty and institution-wide administrators from your institution meet in one location to participate in the seminar. Only one member of the team should register for the event, following the instructions below. HOW TO REGISTER: Registration for the online seminar is now available at https://nsf-training.webex.com/. To register, select the "UPCOMING" tab and select "I-Cubed - Innovation through Institutional Integration Webinar." The registration password is: icubednsf. Please register as soon as possible since there are a limited number of slots available; only one person per institution team should register to save space for other participants. The registrant will receive additional instructions via email from messenger@webex.com once registration is confirmed, please watch for this email. A phone line and one computer with an internet connection will be needed to participate in the seminar. Teenage Mentors Open Door to Science for Younger Girls
How can schools encourage more girls to study science? Researchers have found that pairing high school girls as mentors of elementary school girls for field and laboratory science investigations boosts interest--and confidence--in both groups.
