Structural components provide support to environmental education through policy, funding, administration and implementation.

The structural components of a comprehensive capacity building program include the following:

K-12 EE Instruction Requirements

State Curriculum/Resource Guides

Online Database of EE Resources

State EE Master Plan

State Interagency Committee

State EE Association

State EE Office

State EE Board or Advisory Council

State-Level EE Centers

See Structure Definitions

See also Program, Funding and Diversity areas for integration into a comprehensive system.

(Note: Not all components are necessary to have in place for a comprehensive EE program. The prioritization of components and how they are achieved varies from state to state. Ultimately, comprehensive EE programs involve a majority of the components listed.)
