Get Involved
The MSHI has a variety of programs and projects to fit all volunteers needs. Click the links on any of our three volunteer programs to find out more about volunteer opportunities with the Mount St. Helens Institute.
Attend one of our 2008 work party events.
Our Conservation Corps crew teams assist the National Volcanic Monument with trail maintenance and resource management projects. Crew team members can come out for a day or for several days to work on trails and facilities.
The Volcano Volunteers are trained volunteers who assist at the visitor centers and provide interpretation at various sites around the mountain. We are always looking for more people and groups to join us as volunteers to help us make 2008 a great season.
The Mountain Stewards provide visitor safety, maintenance, and resource protection in sensitive areas such as Monitor Ridge climbing route and Mount Margaret Backcountry, campfire talks at Climber's Bivouac and interpret geology along the climbing route.
