The Center for the Advancement of the Steady State Economy (CASSE) provides a resources page with educational material on the trade-offs between economic growth and environmental protection, economic sustainability, and national security. The downloadable resources include articles, slideshows, videos, and more. CASSE is a nonprofit organization founded by Brian Czech, a Conservation Biologist in the federal government who also teaches Ecological Economics at Virginia Tech. CASSE’s Executive Director is Rob Dietz, who lectures on the subject and assists with related educational efforts.

Australian Research Institute in Education for Sustainability (ARIES) releases study: Whole-school Approaches to Sustainability: An international review of whole-school sustainability programs, commissioned by the Australian Government. The study documents the experiences, achievements and lessons learned from nationwide, whole-school initiatives developing around the world. International initiatives such as Enviroschools, Eco-schools, Learnscapes and Green Schools were reviewed to assist in identifying key features and critical success factors which characterise a Sustainable School.

The Enviroschools Foundation provides support and strategic direction for a nationwide sustainable schools programme. Through the Enviroschools approach students develop skills, understanding, knowledge and confidence through planning, designing and creating a sustainable school. Action projects undertaken by enviroschools have both environmental and educational outcomes that benefit the school and the wider community.
