Welcome to the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies
Based in Washington, D.C., SAIS is a leading graduate school of international affairs, educating students for professional careers in government, business, journalism, international organizations, academia and nonprofits. Founded in 1943 by statesmen Paul Nitze and Christian Herter, SAIS has been a division of The Johns Hopkins University since 1950.
SAIS recently published the 2008 issue of its annual magazine, SAISPHERE. In this issue we asked several members of the faculty, scholar, student and alumni community to explore the theme, "Water: The New Reality" to coincide with our "Year of Water."
