Project WILD          
Project WILD is one of the most widely-used conservation and environmental education programs among educators of students in kindergarten through high school. Project WILD is based on the premise that young people and educators have a vital interest in learning about our natural world. The program emphasizes wildlife because of its intrinsic and ecological values.

Adventures with Jonny    
Adventures with Jonny is a very unique outdoor children's series that combines three books into one. The book opens with a colorfully illustrated, rhyming children's story to pique the child's interest in the sport of fishing. The second section is a parental tutorial to aid parents in the proper introduction of their children to the sport. The book concludes with a fish identification game and a writing journal so that kids may record their early fishing adventures. Adventures with Jonny has teamed up with Project F.I.S.H. in a combined effort to reach more children and introduce them to the great sport of fishing.

Celebrate Urban Birds!    
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology's newest citizen science project "Celebrate Urban Birds!" kicked off in May and nearly ten thousand participants and five hundred organizations are already taking part. All materials are free (including bilingual posters and sunflower seeds) and give individuals, families, and groups all the tools needed to watch birds and collect data in cities, suburbs, and rural areas. Celebrate Urban Birds gives people a chance to experience nature directly in order to promote conservation.

Encyclopedia of Life    
Supported by grants from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the "Encyclopedia of Life" is a global effort to document all 1.8 million named species of animals, plants, and other forms of life on Earth. The encyclopedia will be a multimedia Wikipedia-style Web site, providing downloadable information on each species. The Field Museum, Harvard University, the Marine Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Biodiversity Heritage Library partnered to launch the project.

Envirovet Releases New Webumentary    
Envirovet, an organization that brings veterinary medicine to wildlife health issues, released this new video clip of a Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Ngamba, Uganda, for orphan chimpanzees rescued and brought to the sanctuary for long-term care.

The Electronic Naturalist Web site is a project of the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History providing plant and animal information with illustrations, weekly lesson units, and access to a naturalist with "Ask a Naturalist." eNaturalist memberships are free and provide previews of lessons, how those units align to national standards, weekly e-Naturalist newsletter, and the monthly Peterson Journal Online.

The Monarch Larva Monitoring Project
