Funding components are related to sources, strategies and training that support both the programming and structural components of environmental education. The funding components of a comprehensive capacity building program include the following: Public/Private Grants and Donations Fees, Fines, Taxes and Lottery See also Structure, Program and Diversity areas for integration into a comprehensive system. (Note: Not all components are necessary to have in place for a comprehensive EE program. The prioritization of components and how they are achieved varies from state to state. Ultimately, comprehensive EE programs involve a majority of the components listed.)
With many funding agencies requiring program evaluations, this new, free online resource from the University of Michigan will help you through the process step-by-step, starting with choosing approaches and resources based on your experience/skill level. Funded by and in partnership with the US EPA and US Forest Service, MEERA helps educators evaluate to what extent they have met the goals and objectives of their project.
