To increase the number of educators receiving EE training, the Environmental Education and Training Partnership (EETAP) will make the highly successful course Fundamentals of Environmental Education (FEE) available to universities across the country. There is no cost to obtain, and a $500 honorarium is offered after faculty have successfully taught the course to at least 15 students.
The Fundamentals of Environmental Education online course developers and reviewers included six past-presidents of NAAEE and is based on the NAAEE Guidelines for the Initial Preparation of Environmental Educators document. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) has offered this course over the last 10 semesters and receives excellent feedback from students. Summer 2007 revisions more directly address the NAAEE competencies for a professional environmental educator. Read the syllabus, a matrix demonstrating how it addresses the NAAEE competencies, and how to use this course to teach EE online. Interested faculty members can learn how their university can obtain the course from UWSP by clicking on the link below, or contact Ali Cordie Ali.Cordie@uwsp.edu The URL is: http://www.naaee.org/programs-and-initiatives/dist...
