Obama Issues Clarion Call for Congressional Action on Energy and Climate Published February 25, 2009
President Obama delivered his first presidential address to Congress last night, laying out his plans for the year ahead.
Larry Schweiger, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, said in response:
"The National Wildlife Federation welcomes President Obama's clarion call to Congress to deliver legislation that drives renewable energy in America by putting a cap on carbon pollution. By making renewable energy profitable, a cap on carbon pollution will transform our energy future. It will create new jobs and new industries in a new, clean energy economy today while building long-term solutions to the perils of climate change."
