Digital TV Conversion Mandate for February 2009

On February 17, 2009 Federal Law mandates that TV stations must stop transmitting television signals in analog format and begin transmitting only in digital

What does this mean for you?

It means beginning February 18, 2009 all non-digital TV's that use antennas to receive a TV signal will no longer work. There are three easy options to solve this problem.

1.  Purchase a converter box. Upon request, the government will provide a $40 coupon, while supplies last, to help offset the cost of purchasing a converter box. You can get a coupon by clicking on this link: Converter Box Coupons

2.  Purchase a cable or satellite television service.

3.  Purchase a digital ready television.

Below you will find links to websites that will answer your questions and give you additional information on this mandate and how you may be affected. If you already subscribe to cable or satellite for every TV in your home, you should not have to purchase a converter box. However, you should contact your service provider to make sure that there are no additional steps that you will need to take.
