Washington, D.C.—On Tuesday, January 6th, Representative Christopher Carney was sworn in for a second term as a Member of the United States Congress. “Once again, this has truly been a humbling experience for me and I am grateful for the honor to serve again as the Congressman from Pennsylvania’s 10th District,” said Representative Carney, whose family joined him in D.C. for the swearing in. “We’ve been able to accomplish a great deal these past two years, but so much more remains to be done and we’re excited to get to work.”

"To start off this term, I look forward to seeing an economic recovery package that includes not only funding for critical infrastructure projects close to home and across the nation, but also tax cuts to help local families and small businesses.  As a Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I am especially eager to facilitate our regional transportation needs. In particular, we need to find ways to fund local projects throughout northeast and central Pennsylvania,” said Congressman Carney. “I am especially concerned with job creation, advancement of technology and tapping our urban and rural assets to expand alternative energy resources.”

"While details from President-Elect Obama's transition team are still forthcoming, I'm hopeful that whatever form the bill takes, it invests significantly in the future of northeast and central Pennsylvania."

“I pledged to represent the values of Pennsylvania’s 10th District while in Washington and I will continue to do so for this second term,” said Congressman Carney.
