PENCE ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR RICHMOND STORM AND SEWER WATER PROJECT

Washington, Dec 9, 2003 - WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Mike Pence announced today that the U.S. House of Representatives secured $200,000 in funding for the storm water and sewer project in Richmond, IN.

“The storm water and sewer project in Richmond is extremely important for improving the quality of life for Richmond residents,” said Pence.

Deficiencies in the storm and sanitary sewer system have resulted in significant health and liability issues for the citizens of Richmond. Funds will be used to upgrade the aging sewer infrastructure in order to meet new Storm Water Quality Regulations.

The funding was included as part of the FY 2004 Omnibus Appropriations Conference Report. It is expected to pass the Senate and be signed by President Bush.
