VA Awards
Environmental Excellence Awards
The Department of Veterans Affairs’ VA top environmental award to recognize VA employees and facilities for efforts resulting in significant, positive contributions to the environment. The awards focus on waste/pollution prevention, recycling, green purchasing, Environmental Management Systems, sustainable design/green buildings, and minimizing fuel usage through transportation efficiency. VA Environmental Excellence Award winners are recognized at a ceremony held in conjunction with the annual Earth Day event at VA Central Office on or about April 22. They also are eligible to compete in the White House Closing the Circle Awards Program.

Louis P. Nangeroni Jr. Award for Excellence in Logistics
This site will contain a synopsis of the Nangeroni Award. It will also contain the Nomination Forms and criteria for submission. The Louis P. Nangeroni Jr. Award for Excellence in Logistics is an annual award established in 2005.

Federal Awards
Computers For Learning Gold Star Award for Excellence (CFL)
The CFL Gold Star Award is presented annually by the General Services Administration (GSA) to recognize a Federal agency’s innovative implementation of Executive Order 12999. GSA’s goal in presenting this award is to publicly recognize and draw attention to the federal government’s commitment to improving access to computer technology in American education. The winner will receive a $1,500 cash award during the National Property Management Association’s National Education Seminar.
Miles Romney Achievement Award for Innovation in Personal Property Management
Miles Romney Achievement Award was instituted in 1998 by the General Services Administration’s Office of Governmentwide Policy, Office of Transportation and Personal Property. This annual award recognizes Federal agencies with a cash award for:
Innovative personal property management practices
New property management practices that maximize the reuse of government assets
Improvements to current property disposition processes
Other Awards
The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) honors members and recycling leaders through three recognition programs:
Annual Awards are presented to outstanding organizations and individuals in a number of categories, including Outstanding Community or Government Program and Recycler of the Year – Lifetime Achievement Award. Winners are selected by a committee of NRC members and the awards are presented during the NRC's Annual Congress & Exposition.
Recycling Works Recognition Awards honor organizations that have made significant commitments to recycling and to environmental conservation as national advocates and leaders. The awards are presented at a ceremony held in Washington, DC.
Stewardship Awards recognize innovative and committed leadership in recycling and environmental stewardship. These awards are presented periodically.

Non-Governmental Awards
The following information and web sites are provided on additional non-governmental awards that are available to Materiel Management personnel. These awards encompass a wide variety of subject matters from safety motivation and recognition, materiel management, and leadership in supply management.
Awards and recognition given for service to NPMA and to the Property Management profession are an important part of the association’s activities. Members are recognized at the chapter, regional, and national levels of the NPMA, the latter awards being presented at the National Education Seminar.
Motivation and Recognition Award Programs help to acknowledge employee safety achievements in the workplace. These awards can help motivate employees to adopt safe practices and reward them for staying committed to workplace safety.
Sponsors the R. Gene Richter Awards for Leadership and Innovation in Supply Management. Awards are given to supply management departments within organizations that demonstrate leadership and innovation in supply management in at least one of four categories: Process, Organization/Structure, People or Technology. Although entries may address more than one category, entrants must select the primary category for which they wish to be considered. If no category is selected, one will be assigned by ISM.
