7 Simple Steps to Submitting

All abstracts must be submitted using the online form. If you follow the seven steps below, you will be ready to fill out the online form and submittal of your abstract should be easy.

View our new abstract submittal tutorial for a step-by-step look at the process »

  1. Be ready to list the speaker's name(s), organization, and complete address, phone, fax and email address.
  2. Write a title for your abstract. Do not use all capital letters when typing your title in the online form.
  3. Choose your presentation type
  4. Please rank your paper for the audience for which it is most appropriate:
    • Basic: Little or no knowledge of erosion control principles
    • Intermediate: Moderate erosion and sediment control familiarity
    • Advanced: Expertise in erosion and sediment control principles
    • All: Suitable for a broad audience
  5. Write three concise learning objectives for your presentation, focusing on what the participant will learn from your presentation. Please keep each objective to 10 words or less.
  6. Choose a technology section that would be most appropriate for your project, research or product.
  7. Write a clear, concise, 400-word or less description of your presentation that will entice the reader to find out more about your presentation. Your abstract should include:
    • A summary of the paper: who is involved; where the project took place; why you are writing about the subject; what the project is; and how the project took place.
    • A statement of the original problem.
    • The contribution your presentation will make to the industry's body of knowledge.
    • The conclusion or main results.

Please assist us in providing quality education by adhering to our philosophy that all presentations must be noncommercial.

If you follow these steps and still have trouble with your submittal, please contact Russ Adsit, Executive Director.

Acceptance of an abstract does not imply acceptance into the conference program. Final presentations must be reviewed and approved before final invitations to present at the conference will be issued.
