Seventy years ago, John D. Rockefeller Jr., the principal benefactor of the restoration of Williamsburg, Virginia, commissioned Josiah Wedgwood and Sons to reproduce china from fragments excavated at the famous Raleigh Tavern site so that “the purposes of education might be furthered by the sale of this ware.”

Today, WILLIAMSBURG is the home brand of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, drawing on the Foundation's collection of nearly 60,000 treasures as inspiration for our WILLIAMSBURG® products. Together with our more than 50 licensed manufacturers, we find the very best in classic design from our vast antiques collections, re-imagine it for today—sometimes as an exact reproduction and sometimes by creating a new twist on Williamsburg’s story.
