Zoo Temporarily Closes Africa Exhibit; Welcomes New Asiatic Black Bear
Zoo Boise will close the African Plains exhibit Monday, Nov. 3, for nine days to pave public pathways.  The rest of the zoo, including a new Asiatic Black Bear Exhibit, will be open at a reduced admission price.

Monument to World War II Veterans

See the Sculptor Benjamin Victor at Work Creating Boise's Monument to WWII Veterans
The public is invited to meet sculptor Benjamin Victor, of South Dakota, who is sculpting a larger-than-life size World War II Aviator for Boise Airport. The completed sculpture, to be cast in bronze, is based on an Army Air Corp Aviator who flew out of Gowen Field during World War II.

Since the leaves have to be raked this time of year, why not turn them into compost instead of trash?  Whether you reuse your leaves at home or participate in Recycle the Fall, you are conserving valuable landfill space!  This is a citywide, curbside collection program that runs from November 3 to December 5, 2008.
