Mission

We develop new technologies and basic science, provide information analysis, technical expertise and training, and integrate lab-wide capabilities to:

Ensure global control of nuclear and radiological materials, including domestic and international safeguards;
Generate integrated system approaches for multi-pronged threat prevention and detection;
Provide world-wide threat indications and warnings;
Enable interdiction of nuclear and radiological threats; and,
Provide tools and approaches for nuclear and radiological event consequence management.

Vision

We will make our nation safer by anticipating, understanding, and reducing threats from weapons proliferation and terrorism.
