Giving Form Adopt-a-Book Program Special Donor Funds Friends of the Linda Hall Library Book Donations | Making a Gift to the Adopt-a-Book ProgramResearch collections are subject to varying degrees of damage or near destruction through routine use, mishandling and paper deterioration. Preservation and conservation measures to correct, reverse or prevent deterioration vary from simple archivally sound measures performed by library staff to complex processes best handled by expert conservators outside the library. Even the relative modest cost of simple measures becomes quite large when multiplied by the number of items in need of attention. The Adopt-a-Book program is designed to allow our friends and users to help by donating funds to support the repair of one or more items. Future researchers will especially appreciate your contribution. All adopted books or journals will carry a bookplate publicly acknowledging you as the donor and you will receive a letter of appreciation in recognition of your donation. You may designate your donation for a particular book, subject area or treatment option or you may choose to make an unrestricted gift and leave the choice of an adoptee to the library staff. To learn more about the books needing attention and the available options, please contact Nancy Day, Information Resources Office at 816-926-8735 or dayn@lindahall.org. |
