Help Keep Seattle’s Streets Litter-free

Join more than 300 active volunteer groups cleaning up nearly 200 miles of city streets. The mission of the Adopt-A-Street program is to promote civic responsibility, community pride and enhance Seattle’s quality of life through clean streets and beautiful neighborhoods. This program was launched in the late 1980’s and has gained national prominence as one of the most effective and efficient grassroots litter-removal initiatives.

As an Adopt-A-Street volunteer, you will receive:

  • • Clean up supplies (for loan during the duration of volunteer service)

  • • Delivery and pick-up of supplies

  • • Safety equipment

  • • Garbage pick-up (if needed)

  • • Educational resources

  • • And more… view the Supply Request Form (DOC)
What streets have been “adopted?”
To find out which road segments have been adopted by other volunteers, view the Adopted Streets maps for the area you are interested in. It is possible for more than one group or individual to adopt the same street.
