Who Can Borrow

- Students and faculty of participating Courtesy Card institutions.

- Individuals living within the following counties:
Missouri - Bates, Caldwell, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Platte, Ray
Kansas - Douglas, Franklin, Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami, Wyandotte
*Individual borrowers must provide credit card information on their
application.
- High school students with credit card information provided
by a parent.
(Parent must be present at registration).
- Established businesses within the KC Metro area (see
above counties).
Contact Reference Services for more information about authorized borrowing
for businesses.
- If you wish to borrow from the Linda Hall Library but don't
meet the above criteria, please contact your local public, academic
or corporate library about borrowing through interlibrary loan from
our Document Delivery
Services.

Check-Out Period and Limitations
- All borrowers must provide a picture ID at the time of check-out.
- Adult and courtesy card borrowers may borrow 10 items.
- High school students (student with parent) may borrow 5 items.
- Check-out period for books is 2 weeks with one two week renewal,
via phone, email or in person, if no request has been placed on the
item(s).
- Material on loan may be renewed either by phone - call (816)-926 8701 or by email to circ@lindahall.org
The following material does not circulate:
- Journals/periodicals/magazines
- Conference proceedings
- Government documents
- Material published before 1900
- Microforms - microfiche, microfilm, microcard
- Rare books - History
of Science collection
- Reference books
- Technical reports
- Other items as stated in the Linda Hall Library circulation
policy.
The Linda Hall Library reserves the right to deny circulation of any
item determined to be fragile or difficult to replace. Patrons with
overdue items will not be able to check-out additional items. Abuse
of the loan agreement may result in the loss of borrowing privileges.
Replacement Costs
- A standard replacement cost of $150 will be charged for each
item not returned in a timely manner.
- A damage fee of $25 will be assessed on an individual basis
unless the item needs to be replaced.
- A $25 processing fee will be added to all credit card transactions.
