January 16 Update: Ice Skating Center Open for Evening Skating
The Ice Skating Center will be open January 16 for evening skating. Public open skate will take place from 5:45-7:45PM and from 8-10PM. Open hockey skating will take place from 10PM-midnight. For questions, call 755-3030.
January 16: Senior Center Closed; Lap Swimming & Franklin Middle School Rec Nite Cancelled
The Janesville Senior Center and will be closed January 16 due to the cold weather. Lap swimming at Marshall Middle School has been cancelled for January 16 in conjunction with the schools being closed. The Franklin Middle School Rec Nite has been cancelled for January 16. Downtown Snow Removal Scheduled for Sunday, January 18
The City of Janesville has scheduled downtown snow removal activities for Sunday, January 18 beginning at approximately 10:00 pm. Removal activities will occur overnight Sunday and continue through Monday morning. During removal activities, citizens are encouraged to refrain from parking in on-street stalls and public parking facilities in the downtown area. Also, business owners in the downtown are encouraged to remove snow and ice from their sidewalks as best they can prior to this event. Traxler Park Outdoor Skating Rink Closed Until Friday, Jan. 16 Due to Weather
Due to the expected weather conditions, the City of Janesville and the Friends of Traxler Park will be closing the outdoor ice skating rink on Tuesday, January 13 through Thursday, January 15. The outdoor ice skating rink is expected to re-open on Friday, January 16 contingent on the weather. Leisure Services will keep the public updated.
The outdoor ice skating rink's normal hours of operation are as follows and include restrooms, concessions at the Traxler Warming House, and free ice skate rental:
- Monday-Friday: 4-9PM
- Saturdays: Noon-9PM
- Sundays: Noon-8PM
