A Productive First Year Together, we made incredible progress over the past year in our goal to create a New Louisiana. We passed some of the toughest ethics laws in the nation, eliminated burdensome taxes, revamped our workforce development system and cracked down on sex offenders. There is still much work to be done and this year we'll continue our mission to make Louisiana the best place in the world to raise a family and pursue a great career.

State Makes Official 30-Year Cost-Share Agreement For Levee Construction The State of Louisiana and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers signed an official agreement today granting Louisiana the flexibility to pay the required match for levee construction over 30 years. Garret Graves, Director of the Governor's Office of Coastal Activities, represented the state at today's signing event.

Pilot Program Expansion to Improve Public Health Testing A pilot program that has increased efficiency of state laboratory testing for medical uses in twelve parish health units since 2006 will soon go statewide, and be expanded to include environmental testing. Governor Bobby Jindal highlighted the program today at a town hall meeting in Calcasieu Parish, one of the twelve pilot sites chosen for the new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) project.
Governor Jindal One Year in Office Mark Today Today, the Governor's office released a highlight summary of accomplishments during Governor Jindal's first year in office. The Governor was inaugurated on January 14, 2008, one year ago today.
