Beginning Jan. 1, 2009, you can recycle that TV, computer or monitor for free as part of the new Oregon E-Cycles Program.

Visit www.oregonecycles.org to find the collection site nearest you and other details about the program. You may bring up to seven items. Call the collection site ahead of time if you intend to bring more. For other questions, call the Oregon E-Cycles hotline (1-888-532-9253) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

PGE Boardman Regulatory Proposal Update
The 2008 Oregon Regional Haze Plan includes a proposal to require emission controls at the PGE Boardman coal-fired power plant in the Columbia Gorge area.

On Dec. 17, 2008, DEQ received comments from PGE asking that the Environmental Quality Commission allow PGE to decommission the coal-fired electric generating unit of the Boardman power plan rather than investing in additional air pollution controls.
