Situated in the heart of the Monterey Bay area in the lush Pajaro Valley, Watsonville lies 95 miles south of San Francisco at the southern end of Santa Cruz County, covers 6.6 square miles, and has a population of 51,703 (January 2008).

Local 911 Emergency Response Fee: 2008 Refund for Multiple Lines
If you have more than one phone line or are a business with more than 9 phone lines, you may be eligible for a refund of the City of Watsonville's Local 911 Emergency Response fee paid during the 2008 calendar year. This fee would appear on your phone bill as a separate line entitled "Local Government Fee". Lifeline customers are not charged this fee. In order to be eligible your phone service must be within the city limits of Watsonville.
Download and submit a "Request for Refund of 911 Emergency Response Fee" with a copy of the phone bill(s). Forms are also available at the Finance Department at 250 Main Street. All requests must include a copy of 1 month's phone bill for the address and all the telephone numbers. Refunds will be issued in 4-6 weeks.

The City of Watsonville has begun the process of updating the "Housing Element" of the City General Plan. The public participation phase of this process will consist of a public survey and several public meetings, the first of which is tentatively planned for January 14, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the Civic Plaza Community Room, 275 Main Street, 4th Floor.

The City of Watsonville has completed construction of the new four-story Watsonville Civic Plaza Building at 275 Main Street. The City has three commercial spaces for lease: two office spaces and one food service/retail space. For a summary of the available space, see the information packet. Save Money on Your Home Energy Bills!
The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments has partnered with PG&E to provide residents of Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties, including Watsonville residents, with free home energy surveys, free light bulbs and more to help residents lower their energy usage and save money on their natural gas and electricity bills. Hospitality businesses, such as restaurants and hotels, can also receive a free energy survey. More Information.

as a way for the public to honor and commemorate individuals, families and organizations. It is also a special way to fund needed trees and benches for city parks. More information.

Affordable homes for sale available now - no lottery required!
New and resale condos, townhomes and single-family homes with up to four bedrooms, located in various Watsonville neighborhoods, are currently listed for sale through the City of Watsonville Affordable Housing Program. Prices range from $194,000 to $403,000. These homes are available to eligible low- or moderate-income, first-time homebuyers. Down payment assistance loans from the Redevelopment Agency are available to eligible buyers of these homes.
