IRS’ Tax Break for Working Families

Do you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)? The City of Santa Ana encourages you to find out! The EITC can provide a refund of up to $4,824 and is one of the largest federal credits available to low and moderate income workers. The City of Santa Ana has partnered with the IRS, Legal Aid Society of Orange County, the OC United Way, and a variety of other agencies to provide free tax assistance and financial education to eligible households.

TeenSpace @ Library Opens

On January 24th, the Santa Ana Public Library celebrates the grand opening of TeenSpace, a fun, educational, and interactive area dedicated to Santa Ana’s teens. From 10 am to 4 pm, the TeenSpace Grand Opening will include a Teen Music, Arts and Dance Showcase, games, movie screening, and other activities to help welcome more teens to the Library.

TeenSpace will be open to junior and high school age teens on Monday – Thursday from 3 pm - 8pm, Friday from 2 pm -5 pm, and Saturday from 10 am – 5 pm. The Library is located at 26 Civic Center Plaza, on the corner of Civic Center Drive and Ross St. For more information, please call (714) 647-5250.

Free Tax Filing at the EITC Super
Saturday, January 24th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Santa Ana Public Library.  Free tax preparation assistance, community resource fair, give-aways, and youth and teen activities!  Please call (888) 434-8248 to schedule an appointment.   

Free Days for Santa Ana Residents
Free admission is offered on designated days of the month to various museums and the Zoo. A California Driver’s License, California Identification Card, or utility bill with picture ID are required as proof of residency.

The Bowers Museum (2002 N. Main St. – 714.567.3600) - free admission on the first Sunday and third Tuesday of every month. www.bowers.org

Centennial Heritage Museum (3101 West Harvard – 714.540.0404) - free admission on the first Sunday of each month.  www.centennialmuseum.org

Discovery Science Center (2500 N. Main St. – 714.542.2823) - free admission on the first Monday of every month. www.discoverycube.org
