 Work is under way for the new edition of the Waxhaw Community Welcome Guide, and now is the time to reserve your ad space. ColeHouse Publishing is working with the Waxhaw Business Association to produce the upcoming magazine. The publication will be ready by June. The deadline for ad sales is Friday, May 15. Crime Alert

At approximately 10:00p.m. on April 7th, 2009, two black male suspects entered Duey's convenience store on W. South Main St. armed with a semi automatic hand gun. They pointed the gun at the two clerks on duty and demanded money from the register. Complying with their demands, the suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money. Both suspects were wearing masks to conceal their identity.

Suspect # 1 is described as a black male, 6'ft tall, 175 lbs?, wearing a black hat, black jacket and dark denim jeans.

Suspect # 2 is described as a black male, 5' 10" tall, 165 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a "Scary Movie" type of mask.

Anyone having information concerning this crime can contact Union County Crime stoppers at 704-283-5600 or Waxhaw Police at 704-843-0353. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1000.00.
