Mayor's Declare Sept. 17-23 as "Constitution Week"

Mayor Bill Haslam and Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale presented the Daughters of the American Revolution’s Knox County Council of Regents with proclamations declaring Sept. 17-23 as “Constitution Week” in Knoxville and Knox County. The presentation took place during a meeting in Mayor Haslam’s office on Tuesday, September 16.

Movies on the Town Friday
Movies on the TownThe fun starts at 7:30 p.m. with pre-show entertainment. The movies kick off at dusk and will end before 10 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Movie locations are World's Fair Park for the Sept. 19 movie and Market Square for Oct. 3, 10, and 17 movies. Next movie to see: Sixteen Candles, PG.

SmartFIX40 Closure Information
SmartFIX40 A short section of Interstate 40 between James White Parkway (exit 388A) and Hall of Fame Drive (exit 389) is now closed for reconstruction. Local traffic can use James White Parkway (exit 388A) and Hall of Fame Drive (exit 389) to access the downtown area, the South Knoxville Bridge and Neyland Drive. Traffic that normally passes through downtown on I-40 has to use I-640 or I-275 to bypass the closure.

Bike Downtown NorthBe a part of the 8th Annual Neighbhorhood Bike Ride on Saturday Sept. 27, 2008 and enjoy the view of historic North Knoxville neighborhoods of Fourth and Gill, Edgewood Park, Fairmont & Emoriland, and Oakwood/Lincoln Park, and the Central Street Redevelopment Area.
