The Office of Financial Management

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) invoices are sent from the FOIA Office to the General Ledger Branch, Office of Financial Management. The General Ledger Branch establishes a receivable for each invoice. All checks received to pay for FOIA support are deposited at the NIH's Cashier Office. Once the check is deposited, the collection is then posted into the Central Accounting System by the General Ledger Branch to the appropriate receivable.

The General Ledger Branch coordinates with the FOIA office to resolve any financial issues regarding FOIA cases.
