About MentorNet

MentorNet is an e-mentoring network for women in science and engineering. Its mission is to further women's progress in scientific and technical fields through the use of a dynamic, technology-supported mentoring program and to advance women and society, and enhance engineering and related sciences, by promoting a diversified, expanded and talented workforce.

Eligibility

There are no hard and fast eligibility requirements to join the MentorNet Community. It is, however, currently intended for and directed toward adults. In addition, MentorNet has developed a listing of some of the characteristics of members for which this community has been developed. You do not have to have all of these characteristics to become a community member. You do have to meet certain eligibility requirements to participate in the One-On-One Mentoring Program.

Enrollment

Click here on MentorNet Community; scroll down to “How does it work?”; to register. After you have joined, the options for participation in are the One-on-One Mentoring Program and the MentorNet E-Forum. If you are interested in obtaining information on the students at participating colleges and universities, MentorNet provides a Resources and Resume Database.

Sponsorship

MentorNet is a nonprofit initiative sponsored through partnerships, grants, and donations. The Laboratory, along with other organizations, provides financial support to help MentorNet meet its goals in providing an increasing number of high quality mentoring opportunities for students. In addition, MentorNet provides help to professionals looking for support from each other and to those individuals just looking for information on women in science and engineering.
