Dependents of full-time Los Alamos National Secutity, LLC (LANS) employees are eligible to enroll as students at any of the University of California (UC) campuses with resident classification for tuition purposes. Dependent refers to a spouse/registered domestic partner or natural/adopted child. Step-children are not eligible. To verify dependence, the employee may be required to provide tax returns and/or other proof of support to UC for the applicable years.
If the employee terminates or takes a leave of absence from LANS employment for any reason (death and retirement included), the spouse/registered domestic partner or natural/adopted children will be allowed to complete the current term as a resident.
The employee must complete the Tuition Waiver form (pdf) before each quarter/semester begins and send it to the HR Service Center (HR-SVSCTR) at Mail Stop P235 or fax it to 505-667-6446. The HR-SVSCTR will verify eligibility and notify the appropriate campus. If the in-state tuition is approved, the student's tuition bill will reflect the lower amount. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing.
