Variation Research Tools

Simple Variation Search: This search form allows you to just enter basic name info to quickly retrieve the desired variation. Use % as a wild card. A sample search is already provided for you, which will find variations of adh1.

If you're looking for the expression of a variation, such as red kernel, try a phenotype search.

(see a sample variation query)

This search can be executed on every page on the site by utilizing the form in the upper right corner. Choose "Variation" from the drop-down menu, enter your search term in the field, and hit return to find the variation you're looking for.

What value does storing and studying variation data have?

Storing and analyzing variation data helps us to understand biological diversity.

What is the connection between corn and variation data?

Storing the details on biological variation enables different combinations to be tested. Ultimately, this sort of information can help scientists to develop better corn plants.
