The Partnership's mission is to improve the quality of drinking water delivered to customers of public water supplies by optimizing system operations.
"Over 85 million people are receiving higher quality drinking water from surface water treatment plants that are participating in the voluntary Partnership for Safe Water program."
Optimizing Surface Water Treatment Plant Performance
Participating in the Partnership program consistently results in a near-term impact in the quality of water produced by utilities. Partnership utilities report more than 50% performance improvement without major capital expenditures. The Partnership provides all of the tools your utility needs to improve water quality and benchmark your facility's results against the program's national database.
Commit - Compare - Assess - Improve
Four phases of the program bring utilities closer to water treatment excellence.
"Improving Water Quality Has No Boundaries"
Join the International Water Treatment Alliance
The Alliance is a cooperative effort of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), water utilities, and in some cases, foreign water organisations dedicated to safe drinking water. It is a voluntary programme where utilities adopt proven operational and administrative practices designed to improve treatment plant performance. They achieve improved water quality by using flexible technical tools that allow each plant to identify ways to enhance performance that are unique to their own situation.
The Alliance is based on the U.S. Partnership for Safe Water programme that includes more than 200 utilities since it began in 1995. The results are proven and documented. The international programme takes the best of the U.S. programme and has adjusted it for worldwide application. Current member list.
