Welcome

Rivers and harbors are an important aspect of life and livelihood in Oregon. Congress realized this over 130 years ago. The Corps of Engineers has been working for over a century keeping Oregon's waterways safe and navigable through the dredging of sandbars, channel deepening, managing the maintenance of floating plant and U.S.  Moorings facilities, as well as performing engineering and feasibility studies, while being sensitive to the environmental impact these works cause.

Mission

We maintain navigation channels and harbors in a safe, cost- effective, environmentally acceptable manner. We operate and maintain US Army Corps of Engineers hopper dredges as an effective, efficient, flexible strategic national asset.
