Regulatory Program Goals

To provide strong protection of the nation's aquatic environment, including wetlands; to enhance the efficiency of the Corps administration of the Regulatory Program to ensure that the Corps provides the regulated public with fair and reasonable decisions.

The Portland District Regulatory Program evaluates applications for permits for proposed activities in "Waters of the United States" (including wetlands) throughout the State of Oregon under the authorities of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act, and the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act.
