The Danny Rhynes Training Center is dedicated in honor of Fire Captain Danny D. Rhynes who served the San Bernardino
National Forest from 1968 to 1994. Danny was a dedicated fireman, leader, and instructor who was committed
to sharing his knowledge and years of experience in the classroom and on the fireline, in the interest of enhancing fire fighter knowledge and fire fighter safety.
May his leadership, courage, and dedication continue to inspire all who attend training here and into the future.
The Danny Rhynes Training Center (DRTC) resides at the San Bernardino National Forest Supervisor's Office. Danny Rhynes serves as a Regional Interagency Wildland Fire Training Center and will accommodate the needs of local, state, tribal, federal fire departments and community partners. Training delivery and emphasis is in wildland fire management, at the introductory, basic, and intermediate level, with the primary focus on Safety, ICS and strategy.
DRTC is centrally located in San Bernardino, CA. serviced by air, rail and bus. Transportation from the Ontario Airport to DRTC is readily available. DRTC is accessible from Interstate 10. DRTC has numerous hotels and restaurants within walking distance and/or 15 minutes
driving time.
