Habitat StewardsTM
Habitat StewardsTM
is a program for people who want to help improve habitats for wildlife.
You may have a small yard, many acres of land, or no yard at all, but if
you're interested in bringing beauty and health to the landscape and
improving conditions for wildlife where you live and work, the Habitat
StewardsTM Program is for you.
Habitat Stewards help
improve wildlife habitat in their communities by committing to 30 hours
of volunteer activities in exchange for 30 hours of training by
conservation
experts. Habitat Stewards come from varied backgrounds with different
interests and have fun learning together. Many continue to participate
in the program even after completing their
volunteer hours.
Habitat
StewardsTM
is a volunteer program of the
National Wildlife Federation®
and, in Maine, is a joint effort with the University
of Maine Cooperative Extension.
